What it is like for me.....

Well, first of all, I love this work. I love the way it just fell into my lap and has all just worked out. I have great support from my family and friends, which makes all the difference. What do I love the most? Empowering families to take charge of one of the biggest life changing events....BIRTH! Seeing the end result and making birth an intimate experience. What do I like the least? The fact that birth in our culture had made birth such a medical, non-intimate experience. That it isn't the norm for us as a country to make the birth of our children one that we remember with joy years down the road, more of fear and terror. Joy that our children are born?..no, that goes without saying. Joy of what the experience of childbirth can be. I really think our country, our culture, needs to start taking care of each other again. It is so sad to me that we don't and can't trust people, can't help people stranded on the side of the road, that we leave women to labor on their own...all because we are soo busy and we tend to just keep to ourselves. I encourage anyone reading this to do something for someone, not because they ask, but because it should be good human nature, to just lend a hand. I have such high hopes that our generation can turn things around. Anyway, thanks for reading more to come later:)
